Ryan Day and offensive line coach Greg Studrawa signed one of the country’s biggest offensive line prospects in early February, offensive tackle Dawand Jones from Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis. The 6-foot-8 and 360-pound Jones is also a basketball star for Ben Davis. In fact, at one time Jones thought he would go basketball in college and he had a couple D-1 scholarship offers in hoops. It was easy to see why on Friday night. Ben Davis defeated Indianapolis Arsenal Tech 72-51 behind Jones’ 40 points and 15 rebounds. Jones also added three assists and blocked two shots in the win. Ben Davis finished the regular season with three wins in a row and now have a 14-7 record heading into the state basketball tournament.
