As the team bus roamed around Columbus, Ohio, last Thursday, only a few of the people on board — namely coach Bob Motzko and his assistants — knew their destination. Rumors swirled that they were headed to dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse. Instead, they stopped at a bowling alley north of the Ohio State campus, where assistant coach Garrett Raboin stood up before the team and declared, “Let’s roll.” For the next few hours, the team ate, bowled, played video games and generally forgot about hockey for a while.
