Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano continues to haunt Rutgers

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Maybe it was the $800,000 that Greg Schiano was forced to pay Rutgers after he abruptly quit his head-coaching gig for the Scarlet Knights to take over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Or perhaps it was not being considered for the Rutgers vacancy in 2015, when he was out of work and new Scarlet Knights Athletic Director Pat Hobbs showed little interest in bringing back a former coach. Whatever the reason, Schiano certainly seems to enjoy haunting the Rutgers football program he once built. For the third straight year, Schiano, as the Ohio State defensive coordinator, squared off with Rutgers. And for the third straight year, the Scarlet Knights failed to muster a touchdown. Rutgers was no match for No. 4 Ohio State on Saturday, falling 52-3 in a Big Ten clash at Ohio Stadium. The Scarlet Knights tallied just 134 total yards from scrimmage and 12 first downs…
