Ohio State's Greg Schiano sounds off on Vols football situation

Ohio State Buckeyes defensive coordinator Greg Schiano brought respectability to Rutgers during his 11 seasons as the Scarlet Knights’ head coach. Had one day in November unfolded differently, Greg Schiano would have been standing at the podium Monday in Knoxville fielding questions about West Virginia and Tennessee’s season-opener in Charlotte on Saturday. Instead, Schiano — Ohio State’s defensive coordinator who had an almost-completed deal to become Tennessee’s head coach — was in Columbus, Ohio, talking about the Buckeyes and their opener against Oregon State. He did, however, offer a brief comment nearly becoming UT’s coach. “Certainly things like that, those are tough to stomach,” Schiano said. “Now isn’t the time to talk about it. There will be.
