Urban Meyer tops ranking of Big Ten coaches Athlon Sports released its list of the top coaches in the Big Ten this week, and it’s not a surprise that Urban Meyer is No. 1. Meyer, who is 73-8 with a national title in six seasons at Ohio State, was ahead of Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio and Penn State’s James Franklin for the top spot. “Meyer has been a model of consistency and success at a high level since becoming a head coach in 2001,” Athlon’s Steven Lassan Sports wrote.
