COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State quarterback Pandel Savic passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92. Savic was the quarterback for the Buckeyes when they won their first Rose Bowl in 1950. Ohio State beat USC in that game, 17-14. He came to the United States from Macedonia when he was nine years old and served with the Marines in the South Pacific during World War II. After his college football career ended, Savic helped found Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin and was the tournament chairman of The Memorial for 30 years.
