Ohio State football great Pandel Savic passed away on Tuesday in Columbus at the age of 92, according to a release. Savic — a two-year starter for Ohio State under coach Wes Fesler — led the Buckeyes to their first Rose Bowl win in 1950 with a 17-14 victory over California. The three-year letterman threw for 581 yards and 6 touchdowns in the 1949-50 season to help Ohio State capture a share of the Big Ten championship along with its first-ever Rose Bowl victory. Savic was also a founding member of the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio and served as general chairman of the Memorial Tournament for more than 30 years.
