Ohio State landed commitment No. 8 in the 2019 recruiting class from Mansfield, Ohio, linebacker Cade Stover on Sunday afternoon. Stover, a 4-star prospect, was offered by the home-state team in March 2017, and his commitment to the Buckeyes has seemed inevitable since. Oklahoma, Penn State and Notre Dame all made pushes for Stover, but an April 20 official visit to Columbus seemed to seal the deal. Stover is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect with the frame, athleticism and skill set to play either outside linebacker or defensive end, though linebacker currently seems more likely. Stover is the No. 130 overall prospect and No. 8 outside linebacker in the 2019 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
