Alabama’s rightfully at No. 1, with Clemson and Georgia right behind. Just a bit behind that top three comes the Big Ten East. Ohio State is at No. 4, followed by Michigan and Penn State, which tie for fifth place. Those top three teams made the playoff in January, as you may recall. Ohio State was left on the outside looking in, as the playoff committee chose Alabama over the Buckeyes. Michigan was 8-4 in a rebuilding year, while Penn State was 10-2.
