Ohio State football: Dobbins gets second Big Ten freshman award

Dobbins is three games into his college football career and he already has been named a freshman performer of the week twice by the Big Ten. The running back from La Grange, Texas, shared the award this week with Rutgers running back Johnathan Lewis. Dobbins rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns, including a 52-yard TD sprint early in the second half, to help power the Buckeyes’ 38-7 win over Army on Saturday in Ohio Stadium. “I felt like we got a lot of energy from that, the whole team,” Dobbins said of the long run. “We started clicking.” He is eighth nationally in rushing (425 yards), after leading the Buckeyes with 181 yards in the season-opening win at Indiana and picking up the league’s freshman of the week award.
