On a hot June afternoon in East Lansing, coaches ordered a water break. Standing on the Michigan State outdoor practice field during a camp for recruits, Trent Gillison, Xavier Henderson and Michael Dowell were lined up next to one another. They shared a common bond as Spartan commits for the 2018 class. And there was also where they headed after the camp, back home. One state south of the border. Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and his staff have deep ties to Ohio and place a heavy emphasis on recruiting the state. Since Dantonio took over the program for the 2007 season, he has signed at least four players from the Buckeye State each year, topping out at eight in both 2012 and 2016.
