Top-10 LB K’Vaughan Pope commits to Ohio State, gives Buckeyes third LB in 2018

In early June, Ohio State went to Virginia Beach, Va., and plucked the country’s second-ranked inside linebacker out of the Commonwealth, and put Teradja Mitchell in its 2018 recruiting class. Two months later, it’s another Virginia standout, Dinwiddie’s K’Vaughan Pope, who has made a verbal commitment to the Buckeyes. Pope, the country’s seventh-ranked inside linebacker per the 247Sports composite ranking, announced his decision Friday. Although it’s questionable that he’s a middle linebacker (he’s more likely an outside linebacker, at least initially, at Ohio State), there’s no doubt that he is one of the country’s most explosive athletes. The Dinwiddie County star chose the Buckeyes over Georgia, Florida, Clemson, Michigan State, Alabama and others who offered him a scholarship.
