In early June, Ohio State went to Virginia Beach, Va., and plucked the country’s second-ranked inside linebacker out of the Commonwealth, and put Teradja Mitchell in its 2018 recruiting class. Two months later, it’s another Virginia standout, Dinwiddie’s K’Vaughan Pope, who has made a verbal commitment to the Buckeyes. Pope, the country’s seventh-ranked inside linebacker per the 247Sports composite ranking, announced his decision Friday. Although it’s questionable that he’s a middle linebacker (he’s more likely an outside linebacker, at least initially, at Ohio State), there’s no doubt that he is one of the country’s most explosive athletes.
