COLUMBUS, Ohio — K’Vaughan Pope is finally a Buckeye. After a strange road to a commitment in which the four-star linebacker from Virginia seemed like he could pull the trigger at any time, Pope made it official on Friday during a commitment ceremony at Dinwiddie High School. Pope (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) becomes the 17th member of Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class, and the third linebacker pledge in the group. He’s the No. 7 inside linebacker prospect in the 247Sports composite ratings, and the No. 168 overall player in the country. The other linebackers in Ohio State’s class are four-star prospects Teradja Mitchell and Dallas Gant. Pope could have already been in the fold for the Buckeyes.
