The top 50 Ohio State football players for 2017: No. 45, OL Malcolm Pridgeon

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football opens the 2017 season on Aug. 31 at Indiana. We’re counting down the top 50 Buckeyes for this season taking into account talent, past accomplishments, team need and potential. No. 45: Malcolm Pridgeon, Junior, Offensive lineman Height, weight: 6-foot-7, 315 pounds. Hometown: Central Islip, N.Y. Where he was ranked entering last season: We ranked eight offensive linemen in our preseason top 50 for 2016, but Pridgeon wasn’t one of them. What he’s done: A junior college transfer from Nassau Community College in New York, Pridgeon missed all of his first season with the Buckeyes thanks to a knee injury suffered during preseason camp. He had been expected to compete for a starting job at guard or tackle, but he sat all year, returning only for bowl practice. He was the No. 3 junior college tackle when he picked Ohio State.
