For almost a year, the commitment of Emory Jones as Ohio State’s 2018 quarterback has meant one thing: the Buckeyes were able to move way ahead and focus on trying to secure their 2019 quarterback while most schools were still evaluating 2018 options. That’s a benefit for a number of reasons, but even more positive for Ohio State because it meant when new quarterbacks coach Ryan Day landed in Columbus, he wasn’t forced to navigate murky waters like his predecessor did in January of 2015. The transition to Ohio State has been a smooth one for Day and over the last three months he’s done nothing but see what the best quarterbacks of the 2019 class can do.
