There’s a fine line between hype and reality. Now that we have a long separation from the spring game — the regular season is just around the corner — it’s getting even more real for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Every expert with a microphone or laptop expects the Buckeyes to capture the Big Ten Conference championship and reach the College Football Playoff (for the third time in four seasons). On paper, it’s easy to visualize that happening, but the right things have to click. Concerns? For the Buckeyes, they probably start at wide receiver. It’s quite possible that Ohio State’s passing game will flourish, perhaps putting quarterback J.T. Barrett in position to win the Heisman Trophy. However, there’s an abundance of question marks, inexperience, and 2016 impotence from this position group, so nothing is a given on the perimeter.
