Cathedral four-star linebacker Pete Werner committed to Ohio State this weekend during his official visit to Columbus. He confirmed the news with 247Sports. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Werner is ranked by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 17 outside linebacker. Werner was a long-time commit to Notre Dame but reopened the process in late November after visiting OSU for the Buckeyes win over Michigan. As a senior Werner had 65 tackles including 17 for loss, eight sacks and three forced fumbles. He was a physical presence each week, a hard-hitting linebacker that is very comfortable covering in space. “Obviously he’s been one of our best defensive players for the last two years,” Cathedral coach Rick Streiff said. “Big, strong, physical kid that can run.” Werner has played all over the…
