Ohio State football | Raekwon McMillan still trying to tackle expectations

Raekwon McMillan said he changed nothing late in the season.The Ohio State middle linebacker’s preparation remained the same. His play, he believes, was the same. But the junior’s production picked up just when the Buckeyes needed it most. Of his team-leading 87 tackles, 33 came in the last three games, including 16 against Michigan. That doesn’t include the biggest play he made against the Wolverines. McMillan blitzed quarterback Wilton Speight and hit him just as he threw from his own end zone, resulting in an easy touchdown off the interception for Malik Hooker that gave the Buckeyes their first lead and a huge emotional boost. It was the kind of impact play that McMillan hadn’t been making. He certainly had been solid, and coaches and teammates consistently praised his play and leadership.
