The comparison to his father – former wrestling standout Mike Padilla – would start almost immediately. “He talked to me about it last year,” Jacob said as he prepares to take over the 285-pound spot on the wrestling team this winter. “He played football here and wrestled here and I want to continue the tradition.” Mike – now a junior high football and varsity assistant wrestling coach at Wayne – left quite a footprint for the eldest of his three children to follow. A standout offensive lineman, Mike also wrestled three years, finishing third in the state as a senior. “Knowing what he did makes me want to push myself even more,” Jacob said.…
