For about three quarters of football, it appeared that Michigan was finally going to get the better of Ohio State in The Game. The Wolverines had out-gained the Buckeyes in total offensive yards 274-153 and Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett had completed just 9-of-23 passes for 57 yards and an interception. Then in the fourth quarter, trailing 17-14, the Ohio State offense put together back-to-back drives that went deep into Michigan territory. After kicker Tyler Durbin missed a chip shot with 7:01 on the clock, the Buckeye defense forced a three-and-out before Barrett once again moved OSU into field goal range as Durbin sent the game to overtime on a 23 yard field goal with just one tick left on the clock.
