No. 2 Ohio State beats No. 3 Michigan 30-27 in double overtime


No. 2 Ohio State took down No. 3 Michigan 30-27 in double overtime, denying the Wolverines a chance at the Big Ten championship game and likely a College Football Playoff berth. Michigan settled for a 36-yard field goal to start the second overtime. But Ohio State got the win via a 15-yard touchdown run by Curtis Samuel. The play came immediately after a close fourth-down conversion by quarterback J.T. Barrett on fourth and short. Barrett ran into the back of a blocker right at the Michigan 15 as he was tackled. The spot — which was reviewed — put the ball directly on the 15, giving the Buckeyes just enough for the first down. And the eventual win that dropped Ohio State coach Urban Meyer to the turf.
