Ohio State moved up to No. 5 in the second College Football Playoff standings of 2016 after being ranked sixth a week ago. The Buckeyes (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten) jumped up a spot thank in part to their own win, but also partially because Texas A&M, which was ranked fourth last week, lost to Mississippi State. Ahead of Ohio State in the standings were No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson, third-ranked Michigan and fourth-ranked Washington. From the Big Ten, Wisconsin was ranked seventh while Nebraska, the team Ohio State beat 62-3 last Saturday, was ranked 19th. The Buckeyes’ only loss this season came against Penn State and the Nittany Lions moved up from No. 12 to No. 10 in the new CFP standings. Ohio State is set to hit the road after a two-game home stand for a matchup with Maryland on Saturday in College Park, Md.
