Oklahoma (1-2) suffered a tough 45-24 loss to then No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday night. Here’s a look at how the Sooners did. Offense: D Oklahoma’s offense was able to move the ball well enough against the Buckeyes, but the Sooners struggled to score in the red zone. On numerous drives OU had good momentum going into the red zone before being unable to capitalize and come away with points, whether that be due to a missed field goal from kicker Austin Seibert, or poor execution. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield didn’t have much help from the offensive line, and was forced to throw on the run. Mayfield’s decision making wasn’t the best against Ohio State, and he ended up throwing two interceptions — including one that was returned for a touchdown. Mayfield caught a lucky break whenever he took a shot down the field that was caught by a Buckeyes defender and was originally ruled an interception, but the call was reversed. Overall, Mayfield made poor choices and the offense as a whole couldn’t execute. Defense: F To say the Sooners’ defense didn’t play well would be an understatement.
