No. 14 Oklahoma got off to a slow start against No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday night. OU marched down the field after a 1.5 hour rain delay but was held scoreless after sophomore kicker Austin Seibert missed a chip-shot field goal. Ohio State drew first blood with a TD run by Curtis Samuel on 4th and 1. On the ensuing drive, OU faced a 4th-and-short of its own but it resulted in a pick-six. With the Buckeyes leading 14-0, the Sooners got a bit of life on a 97-yard kick return touchdown from Joe Mixon. Mixon’s score was controversial, however, as replays showed that he dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line. Mixon’s touchdown stood, but that didn’t stop Ohio State. The Buckeyes jumped out to a 28-10 lead thanks to another interception from Baker Mayfield. The Sooners briefly narrowed the deficit with a touchdown drive that ended with an A.D. Miller pass. The Buckeyes responded, though, with a touchdown of their own with six seconds remaining in the half. Ohio State is set to receive the kickoff in the second half.
