College football predictions: Only rekindled rivalries stir the pot this week

(AP Photo) A glorious opening week of college has given way to an inglorious week. No matchups of top-25 teams. No local games that excite the masses. About the only compelling theme is the return of some old rivalries, some recently dormant and some long dormant. Let’s get to the predictions: Louisiana-Monroe at OU: Sooners 48-10. Will the Duck Dynasty crew be in Norman, like it was back in 2013? Maybe. Sadie Robertson and Trevor Knight have split up, so there’s no reason to be in College Station. Central Michigan at OSU: Cowboys 42-21. OSU actually had one of its better running games against the Chippewas last season – Chris Carson and Rennie Childs combined for 125 yards on 26 carries.   Arkansas at TCU: Horned Frogs 31-27. The Southwest Conference lives! But it’s upside down. The Razorbacks went 30-3 vs. TCU from 1959-91. Texas Tech at Arizona State: Red Raiders 48-34. Upset special. The wrong team is favored.
