Wednesday turned out to be a big day for one of Philadelphia’s top football prospects in the Class of 2018. Four-star Imhotep Charter safety Isheem Young picked up an offer from Ohio State, he announced via Twitter. Young is a Penn State target, and the Buckeyes join a list that includes the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Michigan and a host of others in the recruitment of Young. ESPN ranks him as the No. 2 safety in his class and the No. 56 overall player, while Rivals has him as the No. 12 safety and No. 186 overall player. According to 247sports, Young is the No. 4 prospect in Pennsylvania in the Class of 2018. Ohio State currently has two verbal commitments in its Class of 2018: Five-star Heard County (Ga.) quarterback Emory Jones and four-star Armwood (Fla.) running back Brian Snead. 247sports ranks the Buckeyes’ Class of 2017 as the best in the nation.
