The official Twitter feed for Ohio State football captured that very moment as Buckeyes running backs coach Tony Alford phoned the parents of Mike Weber to inform them, even before the player himself was aware, that he’ll be OSU’s starting running back. As a redshirt freshman, he has no game experience in succeeding Elliott, but was nevertheless named a co-starter along with Curtis Samuel for the role.
