Bowling Green Falcons vs. Ohio State Buckeyes Preview and Prediction


For the first time since the 2006 season, Bowling Green will venture a couple of hours south to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in Ohio Stadium. Bowling Green is coming off a 2015 season that saw the Falcons win the Mid-American Conference championship with a 10-4 overall record. More importantly, Bowling Green is coming into the 2016 season with a brand-new coaching staff, led by first-year head coach Mike Jinks. Jinks was formerly an assistant coach at Texas Tech, serving as the running backs coach from 2013-15. Ohio State also is in a state of flux, as the Buckeyes lost several key players to graduation and early NFL departures. The Ohio State roster is high on talent, but tremendously low on experience. Ohio State has only six returning starters heading into the 2016 season, led by quarterback J.T. Barrett. Even the Ohio State coaching staff adjusted – former safeties coach Chris Ash left to take over as the new head coach of Rutgers, and former tight ends coach Tim Hinton moved into an administrative role.
