Mike Kern's college football top 10

1. Alabama: So you were expecting maybe Bowling Green? It’s never easy being preseason favorite. And Tide has to go to Mississippi – which has beaten them the last two years – in September, to Tennessee – which they’ve beaten nine straight times – in October and to LSU – which they’ve beaten five in a row – in early November. But they are going for fifth ring in nine years. 2. Clemson: Has to go to Florida State, where it hasn’t won in a decade, in late October. Good thing Tigers will be taking Deshaun Watson with them. 3. Oklahoma: Is it me, or do Sooners usually find a way to not get it done when expectations are hightest? Anyway, they host Ohio State on Sept. 17. 4. LSU: You never want to see Leonard Fournette walking around with a boot protecting a sprained ankle. And quarterback could continue to be an issue. Otherwise the Tigers look loaded, even if they’ve lost at least three games each of the past four seasons. 5. Florida State: Open with Ole Miss in Orlando, have to go to Louisville and Miami.
