ANN ARBOR – Despite having a dozen players picked in the NFL draft and losing 16 total starters, Ohio State still is the team to beat in the Big Ten, according to ESPN experts. ESPN had 10 of its expert writers make predictions on the upcoming season and eight of them picked Ohio State to win the Big Ten while two voted for Michigan. Four writers (Edward Aschoff, Chris Low, Ted Miller and Mitch Sherman) picked Ohio State to reach the four-team College Football Playoff while two (Brian Bennett and Mark Schlabach) penciled in Michigan to reach the final four. Bennett has Michigan losing to LSU in a semifinal while Schlabach predicted Michigan to beat Clemson in a semifinal and lose to Alabama in the national championship. Clemson is the popular choice to win the national title as six of the 10 ESPN writers picked the Tigers while Alabama received three votes and Florida State one. Alabama beat Clemson 45-40 to win the title last year.
