COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett’s career to this point is covered in great detail. He’s been two different kinds of a backup quarterback each of the last two seasons. Barrett set the Big Ten single-season record with 45 total TDs, but that Heisman campaign was interrupted when he suffered a fractured ankle in the regular-season finale against Michigan. In 2015, Barrett still wasn’t quite 100 percent when he lost the starting job to Cardale Jones in fall camp. Barrett would eventually re-take the job, but that was interrupted by an OVI on the bye week which led to a one-game suspension. He took the job once and for all with convincing season-ending wins against Michigan and Notre Dame.
