Urban Meyer's son getting national attention

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Nate Meyer has always been known as OSU head coach Urban Meyer’s son. But he junior to be at Bishop Watterson made headlines across the blogs and social media with his performance at the Buckeyes’ annual Friday Night Lights. Meyer shined among the top players in the country as he caught balls from recent Buckeye recruit Emory Jones — a top-rated dual threat QB out of Georgia — and current Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett. It especially surprised his dad, who doesn’t get to see him play much during the fall, but is a regular at his baseball games in the spring. Meyer is certain his boy will play ball in college somewhere. As to which sport and where remain to be determined. ‘I’ve had great conversations with coaches. You know, my two daughters were recruited so I got to sit on the other side of the table. Just to think Nate’s getting close, because everybody remembers, including me, as Nate being that little guy. So, it’s awesome,” Meyer said. Urban’s daughters both played Division I volleyball: Nicki — his oldest — at Georgia Tech, Gigi at Florida Gulf Coast.
