The people of Ohio have lost all faith in the Cleveland Browns. Maybe it’s the eight straight losing seasons, maybe it’s the four head coaches in five years. Whatever the reason is though, Ohioans are so down on the Browns that most people in the state don’t even think Cleveland could beat a college football team. According to a recent poll conducted by Public Policy Polling, 57 percent of Ohioans believe that the Browns would lose to Ohio State in a football game. This wasn’t a close poll either: Only 23 percent of Ohioans actually think the Browns would win. The other 20 percent of respondents were on the fence and said they were “unsure” who would win. The poll of 1,248 Ohioans was taken March 4-6, which is probably a good thing for the Browns because if the poll had been taken after free agency started on March 9, Ohio State would probably have been the unanimous choice to win. No one seems to know what the Browns are doing in free agency, including their own players, who are as confused as anyone. That being said, the people of Ohio do believe that the Browns did get one thing right: 72 percent of respondents felt the team should release Johnny Manziel (remember, the poll was taken about a week before Manziel was cut). By the way, Manziel is the perfect example of why Ohio State or any college team would never beat an NFL team. The 2012 Heisman winner was the top player in college football and so far, he’s been a complete washout in the NFL. …
