COLUMBUS >> At the very moment Sashi Brown and 140 other NFL executives, scouts, coaches were inside the Woody Hayes Center looking for players to begin a new chapter for their teams, the Browns officially closed the book on Johnny Manziel. Manziel was waived by the Browns at approximately 11:30 a.m. March 11. Brown, the Browns’ Executive Vice President of Football Operations, was on the sideline of the Ohio State indoor field watching 22 Buckeye hopefuls go through various drills prior to the three-day NFL draft next month. Andrew Berry, the Browns vice president of player personnel and at least two other scouts were on hand. Coach Hue Jackson was ill and did not attend. The trade doesn’t necessarily take the Broncos out of the running for Colin Kaepernick.
