Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer endorsed John Kasich for president on Thursday. In a video praising Kasich for his leadership, Meyer made his support for the Ohio governor clear. “As a true supporter of what you stand for—now that I really know what you stand for—we’d like to tell you we wish you guys the best,” Meyer said. “Go win this darn thing.” Meyer’s endorsement comes in the wake of GOP candidate Donald Trump insinuating ties to the Buckeyes coach earlier in March. “I don’t know if he [Meyer] endorsed me or not, but he said awfully nice things about me,” Trump said. [embedded content] Former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, also a Kasich supporter, will reportedly appear with him on Sunday at a town hall in Ohio. Polls show that Kasich and Trump are locked in a close race for Tuesday’s winner-take-all primary in Ohio.
