Now that the regular season has come to an end, the Big Ten Tournament looms and Wednesday it begins. The bottom four teams in the conference will play in the first round as Nebraska will challenge Rutgers and Illinois will face off against Minnesota. There may not be much excitement in the games played on Wednesday evening, but it’s still something that Big Ten basketball fans love watching as it gives off the feel of March Madness. Michigan State Basketball gets a double-bye and doesn’t perform again until Friday when it plays the winner of Penn State vs. Ohio State at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Spartans will have to play a team three times in a season, looking for the sweep, no matter what. That’s tough to do, but it can be accomplished. Plenty of other occurrences will be on the radar come Big Ten tourney time for the Spartans such as how Eron Harris will play as the third-scoring option with every game mattering.
