Giants.com is in Indianapolis for the annual NFL Scouting Combine, a weeklong job interview for college football’s best players leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft. We’ve gathered all the mock drafts to date and took a look at the players who could wind up going to the Giants with the No. 10 pick. In his final season, he was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting. As a sophomore in 2014, Elliott rushed for 696 yards and eight touchdowns in three postseason games, including 246 yards and four touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ 42-20 victory over Oregon in the national championship. He finished the season with 1,878 yards rushing, the second-highest total in school history next to Eddie George’s 1,927 yards in his 1995 Heisman Trophy campaign.WHAT THEY’RE SAYING AT THE COMBINEMike Mayock, the man whose voice you’re most likely hearing when you turn on NFL Network to watch combine coverage, ranked Elliott as the No. 1 running back in this year’s class, one spot ahead of Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry of Alabama.“I think the biggest difference is lateral quickness and burst,” Mayock said. “Ezekiel Elliott is just about as fast sideways as he is forward…so he’s got great speed, but his lateral, jump cuts, acceleration, burst, lower body toughness, all those things add up to me first round. When you look at Henry, he needs a little more.
