Notre Dame and Ohio State recruiting against each other every year. Brian Spurlock / USA Today Sports Dec 10, 2015 at 3:33p ET Notre Dame does not face Ohio State on the football field until the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, but the Fighting Irish are 1-0 against the Buckeyes in December thanks to a verbal commit from Daelin Hayes. A four-star linebacker from Ann Arbor Skyline High School in Michigan, Hayes chose Notre Dame from a final three that also included Ohio State and Michigan State. He is the 19th player to join coach Brian Kelly’s 2016 class, which is ranked No. 8 in the nation by Scout.com after Hayes’ commitment. Among that group are two four-star offensive tackles from Ohio: Tommy Kraemer of Cincinnati Elder and Liam Eichenberg of Cleveland St. Ignatius. Both committed long before the 2015 season began. Hayes announced his choice with a slick video we can only describe as…. unique.
