An injury that held out Greg Ward Jr. against UConn likely was the difference between the way their season went and an undefeated run. Either way, they’d be the Group of 5 representative. The Cougars were chosen by the Peach Bowl to play the Florida State Seminoles on December 31, which will be a great opportunity for Houston to prove themselves against a team stacked with talent. But was that the right decision? Easy answer: no. Not even close. There was a rumor that the matchup I would have liked to see would happen in the Fiesta Bowl, where Ohio State and Notre Dame would face off. Houston’s great season can be largely pointed to first-year head coach Tom Herman.
