(AP Photo/Jay LaPrete) Ohio State had its way with Air Force, limiting the Falcons to one field goal over 14½ minutes in the first half and cruising to a 74-50 victory on Tuesday night in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes outscored the Falcons 38-18 in the paint and forced Air Force into an uncharacteristically ugly stat line of 18 turnovers and five assists. “They took us out of pretty much everything,” Falcons coach Dave Pilipovich said on his radio postgame show. “I thought the scoreboard was broke because our score never changed.” The Falcons (6-3) were clearly physically outmatched and in need of a strong shooting performance to balance the scales. They instead shot 33 percent and were 1 of 8 from 3-point range in the first half. As if Ohio State (4-4) needed the extra boost, it beat the buzzer at the end of the first half when Marc Loving hit a shot from just inside of half court. That extended the lead to 37-16, and the Buckeyes extended the advantage to 30 points before the game was finished out by reserves. Air Force, which used 15 players, was led by Trevor Lyons’ 13 points and six rebounds. Loving had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Ohio State, which led in blocked shots (6-0), fast-break points (6-2) and routinely beat the Falcons off the dribble in its half-court offense
