A couple things … — College football’s national punditry seems to have come to a consensus that the College Football Playoff Committee got it right this year with a four-team playoff consisting of Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State and Oklahoma. I disagree. How do you pick Alabama and Oklahoma over Ohio State? All three teams had one loss. Ohio State is the reigning national champion whose only defeat was by three points to Michigan State, one of the playoff teams. Alabama lost to Mississippi, and Oklahoma to Texas. The Longhorns, in case you’re wondering, finished 5-7. Making the miscalculation worse, the committee’s final rankings had Ohio State ranked seventh, behind Iowa and a two-loss Stanford team. This is getting it right? Uh, no. The problem is the size of the playoff field…
