The Tigers are 8-0 overall, with a win over fifth-ranked Notre Dame, and have scored 34 or more points in each of their last four games, including back-to-back games with more than 50 points scored. Clemson will play 16th-ranked Florida State on Saturday November 17, 2015 in Clemson, SC. Although Clemson has reason to be excited, remember that Mississippi State sat atop the first College Football Playoff rankings of 2014 and that three of the top four teams from the initial poll missed the year-end College Football playoffs. Mississippi State finished 10-3 in 2014, losing to Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl.
