Greg Bartram / USA Today Sports Nov 3, 2015 at 11:45a ET Ohio State football entered the season with a lot of potential stars, but two have stood out the most in the eyes of the Maxwell Football Club as it works to determine the best player and the best defender in the nation this season. The club announced Monday that running back Ezekiel Elliott is among 20 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the best player in the country. Elliott leads the Big Ten in rushing at 141.2 yards per game and in scoring at 9.8 points per game. Joey Bosa is among the semifinalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which goes to the best defensive player in the country. A junior defensive end, Bosa is fourth in the Big Ten with 11.0 talkies for loss.
