Following a week off, the top two teams in college football will be back in action as the No. 1-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (8-0) join the second-ranked Baylor Bears (7-0) and five other teams in the top 10 that will put their undefeated records on the line. Baylor will kick off Week 10 for the unbeatens by visiting the Kansas State Wildcats (3-4) in a Big 12 battle on Thursday night with a new quarterback under center. The Bears are consensus 17.5-point road favorites but recently lost starting quarterback Seth Russell for the season due to a neck injury. Filling in for the junior signal-caller the rest of the way will be true freshman Jarrett Stidham, a four-star recruit who has seen limited action in seven games. Stidham has completed 24-of-28 passes for 331 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Baylor cannot afford to lose to Kansas State here if it wants any chance of making the College Football Playoff field. The Wildcats are mired in a four-game losing streak, but they are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games as home underdogs according to the OddsShark College Football Database and 12-3 ATS in their past 15 games at home against conference opponents. Defending national champion Ohio State is a 23-point home favorite against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games after a loss. Minnesota is coming off a tough 29-26 home loss to the 16th-ranked Michigan Wolverines (6-2) after failing to score the game-winning touchdown from the 1-yard line as time expired.
