In Urban Meyers coaching debut at Ohio State, the Buckeyes won big with a 56-10 win over Miami (Ohio).
Braxton Miller rushed for 165 yards, a record for an Ohio State quarterback, and threw for two scores including Devin Smith’s highlight-reel, one-handed catch as the 18th-ranked Buckeyes won easily over Miami.
The first quarter looked like an offense run by Jim Tressel and Jim Bollman, but that all changed after the Miller to Smith TD throw and catch.
Miami of Ohio actually held a 3-0 lead with the first 15 minutes in the books, but 35 consecutive points reeled off by the Buckeyes over a span of about 15 minutes left no doubt that, as expected, the Urban Era at Ohio State would kick off with a non-conference win.
Miller used his legs and his arm to beat the Redhawks on Saturday, totaling 366 yards and 3 touchdowns.
