Things are certainly heating up on the recruiting trail for Urban Meyer and his staff. After receiving a commitment from four-star linebacker, Alex Anzalone this weekend, the Buckeyes start off the week with two commitments from two more top-tier prospects.
According to Marc Givler of Rivals, Joey Bosa and Lewis Neal have both committed to Ohio State this morning.
Neal is listed as a defensive end by most recruiting services, but has been recruited as a linebacker by the Buckeyes. According to Rivals, the product out of Wilson, North Carolina is rated as a 3-star and the 16th-best defensive end in the nation but also had offers from Clemson, Tennessee and South Carolina.
However, the real prize of this pleasant Monday has to be the commitment of Joey Bosa. The Florida native is rated as a 4-star by Rivals and the second-best defensive end in the nation. On top of all that, Bosa is also rated as the 14th-best player overall in the 2013 class.
Clearly, Meyer is trying to replicate what he did at Florida.
After adding four defensive linemen in the 2012 class, the Buckeyes already have four defensive linemen in the 2013 class as well. Championships are won in the trenches and adding as much talent to your defensive front as possible is an excellent formula for success.
Bosa’s and Neal’s announcements give the Buckeyes 13 commitments for this year’s class and with the way things have been heating up lately, this class may be full before we know it.
